Restarting HIT taking longer than expected

When you restart a study it often takes a few minutes (possibly an hour, or so) to complete the restart since a restart involves the following steps:

  1. Expiring the current HIT
  2. Waiting until all workers currently taking the HIT complete their HIT, which may take an hour or longer for some HITs
  3. Excluding all workers who previously took the HIT from retaking the study
  4. Launching a new HIT for the remaining participants
